It's amazing to me what people are trading these days. What's going to be next? There's jet fuel, electricity, and all kinds of other stuff. Does anyone trade in one of these arcane markets? what are the advantages/drawbacks?
Anybody got any info on these, i.e. ethanol and jet fuel. Probably some big dog at the NYMEX would have some lowdown. I did some web searches but only came across random blogs. imamicph
Funny. All the urine jokes are funny right now. HA HA. Not to make light of the restroom humor, is there anyway we can get some real hard facts about exotic futures contracts. Thanks, imamic
You probably answered your own question, they are "arcane." Which means thin and asymmetrical information, you will never be privvy to what is driving them. I can't imagine why anybody would trade them and they don't. Propane has open interest of 186 contracts, the midwest electric contract has open interest of 24,300 but traded 20 times Monday.
