After seeing OEC's new offer this am you have to consider them. There software is free and the rate in thier offer for the ES is $3.30 a RT. That is aggressive. Why would you pay more or pay anyone for software? https://www.openecry.com/rates/rate...ype=october2009
i believe your margins for crude oil are incorrect (intraday is more than overnight) please replace them
Data feed and platform reliability are more important than only roundtrip rates. As a trader starts to trade decent size each month, the rate side of your daily trading expenses will take care of itself.....you can get very good rates. Platform reliabillity and execution speed is something you need to have nailed down right from the start to play this game. Platforms like CQG and XTrader 7 are at the top of the list of current offerings in that department....might as well set your independent trading business up the right way right from the start. I will also mention, I have used Ninjatrader for non-automated work with the Zenfire feed for several years and that arrangement has been rock solid for me too.
As i recall velocity had a few problems in aug 2008. i believe as a big fund went under and i believe velocity had money there. isn't that correct dale?but as far as i know nobodys ever lost a dime with a futures broker. but what i'd like to know why is a small firm like velocity self clearing? global is bigger than velocity and they clear threw big rcg. if i have 50-100k with any uninsured futures broker i want a big clearer.
We had no problems in Aug08. I think you're referring to the Sentinel situation. We are not self clearing but we are an FCM. Global is not an FCM, they are an IB. No futures account has insurance.
hi dale does the x_trader have autospreader? the cme membership is it a lease or a new permit? can velocity help with merc application etc? how accomodating is velocity on commish with spreaders? thanx
