  2. You don't need an OpenGL-spec graphics card. Complete overkill...

  3. Ah, this thread is a lot more delightful now. :)

    Agreed.

i dont know much about building a box so i go with dell.

I will need 4 monitors output, to avoid the complication of installing an extra video card to the extra slot (i am not even sure if dell's mother board have one), i am planning to get a matrox triplehead2go adapter to split one singal to 3 monitors, and use another singal to the other monitor, will that work?

which video card should i pick for Dell Optiplex 745 to make that work?

    - Integrated Video, Intel?GMAxxx [Included in Price]

    - DVI (Digital) Adapter Card [add $20 or $1/month1]

    - PCIe 128MB graphics card, DVI w/VGA adapter and TV-out [add $70 or $2/month1]

    - 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO, Dual Monitor VGA (TV-out), LP [add $140 or $5/month1]

    - 256MB ATI Radeon X1300PRO, Dual Monitor DVI or VGA (TV-out), LP [add $150 or $5/month1]

    Thank you for your input!!

by the way, when i asked the customer support at dell how to get 4 monitors output for Dell PrecisionTM 490... they told me to get:

256MB PCIe x16 nVidia Quadro FX 3500, Dual DVI or Dual VGA or DVI + VGA [add $970]

and then use 2 adapters($29 each) to convert 2 plug in to 4.

thanks to ET and matrox triplehead2go(only $299) i didnt fall into that ripping off.. LOL
