yes that is very hypocritical. i think its obvious he works for michael covel. at least the PT gang is honest about their intentions
What is wrong with you people, do you really think Covell give's a rat's ass about this website? el surdo
its his business, anything that detracts from his business, he will go after. he can steam roll a lot of people, if he has 100 sales every year, he makes 2 mil per year. There are a lot of people who don't want to take the requisite time to learn things from the market and want a easy way out. They look for answers in these expensive courses. Whats more useful is money management principles coded into the software, and it seems Curtis has done that. When your good at what you do, everyone eventually comes to the same answers. All the roads lead to one destination in the end, no matter how you get there. Trading superstars are a derivative of the market. It was nice reading the old rules given out. And you realize you were using a similar methodology all along. So imagine the concentrated herd mentality at work in some of the larger hedge funds. Even though they don't collude, they have the same behavior patterns. Its important to learn those patterns. The concentrated orderflow will steam roll you.
i dont know what DT is but i think you are talking about: www.turtletrader.com covel is a journalist/marketer and an entertaining writer--not a trader, nor does he claim to be. we have our differences in trading philosphy, but the guy is good at what he does. surf ps. clicking on the turtle site, a rare picture of richard dennis--- wonder why with all that supposed cash, he doesn't have a maid.
You've never read Market Wizards, or heard of Richard Dennis, Bill Eckhardt and the Turtles? Hmmm... come to think of it, I wish I'd never heard of Richard Dennis either, considering I took a six figure loss from investing in his CTA- the one that blew up in 2000. (No offense, Curtis Faith- I do respect everything you've done...)
have you followed what dennis is doing after the blow up? did he ever come back or is he bartending somewhere on lasalle street? surf
I know that very shortly after his blow up, he was trading (a much smaller account, I'd assume) at some prop firm in Chicago. Haven't kept track of him since, but I'm sure Curtis knows. Stig, another original turtle, works in my office- I'll ask him when I see him... I used to be pretty bitter towards Dennis, following the bath I took in his fund... but not so much any more. After all, the guy is active in fighting drug prohibition.
