Isn't such approach ruining your life. I mean you become quite dependent to market events and it becomes imperative when you make decision on how would you like to spend your time..Do you consider your life balanced or the fun from trading makes up for the rest?
Trading is an ends to a mean. My purpose is to provide for my family. Since I trade at home, I can play with my son, take care of my mom, (advanced stage dementia) hang with my girlfriend. I also have PTSD. As such, I don’t get out much. My interactions with people are limited, by my choice. I’m no stranger to stroke lvl blood pressure, and exercise lvl HR while sitting around, for no reason. That said, I am not completely sure how much longer I have left. Thusly, my ultimate goal is to ensure my family won’t suffer financial trauma should I die. To answer your question, I am as happy as I can be given the circumstances. They are on vacation right now. They are having fun. That is good

Holy crap, I hope all of you intentionally cleaned up before taking a picture, you are making me fell like a huge slob. My desk is littered with trading notes, notes of things I need to follow up, and currently a big note not to forget my anniversary tomorrow, tucked where only I would see it while trading. The rest of my office looks even worse. The normal pile of books on shelves and off, 3 file cabinets with stuff stacked on top. The closet is overflowing with old computer parts, modems routers and cables. Aviation related pictures on the walls, that I now realize I need to go straighten. To top it off at the moment, and for another couple of months some of the kitchen is in here while it is getting a makeover. Damn it I almost feel bad now! I do at least dust almost 2 times a week.
you have a nice trading room with good window view. I see that when you trade, you are facing the window. Isn't that glaring?
Same here. I don't want to post a picture because my life is spent around my table - all the crap that goes along with it. @blueraincap's setup looks like from a catalog in comparison. A little clinical for me, I'm more into wood and leather but otherwise very nice.
wouldn't call it a trading room, but an office with a trading desk, book shelves, starbucks-style reading desk, treadmill, nap space, etc. the windows face north and west, so the sunlight isn't direct. The desktop on the left is for storing data, coding, manual trading, porns, youtube etc and the right is for purely running codes and order executions.
