Here is my setup…. I daytrade futures from the open for about 3-4 hours. The type of daytrading that I do doesn’t need a fast internet or a fast computer, but my internet and computer are fast enough to minimize the lag time when I’m trading. My systems have always been dell computers that are off the shelf. The current one is I7, 8 gig memory and a large hard drive. When trading, my cpu runs less than 10 percent, my memory usage is less than 4 gig and the hard drive uses less than 10%. In a few years, I will get a new computer and it will be I7 or better and 16gig memory. I trade with 18-20 charts and the only time that I see a lag in computer/internet/my broker is when there is a huge/quick move in the markets. Cheers Toucan
I am just paper trading right now. (Disclosure: i found this here about 11 years ago, in a thread about setups) my real setup is my profile pic. 4x27", 2x19", 1x23"on desk and 1x55" and 1x40" on walls 9 monitors run off 3 gpus, 1 box. Stand up desk.
Ya gotta have a backup workstation. Finally have my dual 4k monitors dialed in. All my workstations have xeon processors.
mine 2 Dell computers, 4 Samsung 32" monitors, all rotated 90 degree. Still trying to figure out how to have 6 Samsung 32" monitors. I have limited table space. Or perhaps my next hobby; Get 2 new more powerful computers, and four 42" monitors all rotated 90 degree. problem is how to glance from top to bottom of the monitors ?!?!
Learn to build it yourself. It's not worth the upcharge for someone else to build it. Their markup maybe > 100+%. Plus you will end up over paying for things you don't need. Such as gaming rigs, like most builders are familiar with.
6 years ago I had a desktop computer made for a good price compared to anywhere else , I just can't remember where i had it made at.
