I'm in California where many people are waiting for the other shoe to drop. In our area, prices are down about 25% off the peak. I'm close to the ocean, so we haven't been hit quite as hard. Sales have picked up a little and real estate agents are starting to spin the story that prices have bottomed out. I don't believe it.

I'm old enough to remember the California real estate crash in the late 1980's. It came in two steps. A drop, leveling off, then a second drop. I think we're in for another rough ride to begin later this year. If you look at real estate in general and the fact that the California economy is circling the drain, I think a second severe price drop is inevitable.

 

With the CA's spendthrift Progressives and Liberals... and their deficits.. hard to imagine it being otherwise..

There is no way Nevada is actually bankrupt. That place is not run like your average state. It's an ATM for the politicians & businessmen. Nevada is only bankrupt when it comes to the rest of its residents.
