Nice-looking charts. Is there a single page or document someone could point to where one could find definitions for all of these abbreviations? "FTT" is one I know for sure ... but even that stands for different things, depending on which thread you're in. Thanks.
Unfortunately, there is none that I know of that has all the vocabulary on one page. Also, the vocabulary has evolved over the years. Understanding a FTT is certainly a good place to start. Look at post 1,2 and 3 at the link below for hopefully a clear definition. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=83604&perpage=40&pagenumber=1 How do you presently trade? price action? indicators?
Thanks rainman. I would say I trade mostly S/R and volatility. I look for reversals, not so much looking to join an established trend. I do love channels on a wider scale, so that's why I've become interested in the methods/charts talked about in this thread. I've always had a burning question about the FTT ... in general, what is the signal for the trade? After all, an FTT is only truly a failed traverse once it violates the defining TL. Is that the point of entry, or is there an earlier one? ... if there is a "nutshell" answer to the question, I'd love a response. - Thanks.
I'm not sure, but I think you have your definition of a FTT mistaken. An FTT fails to reach the left trend line of its fractal. If you get a chance , post a chart with your channels and where you think FTT's occur.
5 minute shifted. Fractal count included. pfc - channel- short traverse 2 - long pt. 3 non dom 2-3, tape 6 - long pt.1 bbt 16 - long pt.1
I changed the count by starting the down channel on 12/3(previously12/2 on shifted) and 12/4 on regular gap chart(it gets confusing correlating them). 2 charts, 5 minute shifted with traverse gaussians and 5 minute regular gap chart with channel gaussians. pfc - channel - short traverse - long pt 2-3 tape - 4 long bbt -12 long - m2 to ftt
5 minute shifted and 5 minute rth. pfc channel - short traverse - short - pt 3 to ftt tape - 7 short bbt - 21 short sub bbt - 63 short to ftt
