    Frank:

Hope you can tolerate few more questions.
    Going through the demo text.
MB dat feed limited to 100 symbols. If I recall neo uses 20-30 so only 70 max available. Kind of small number giving the id scanshop opportunities.

How can you look back say 5 months on a chart? Thought the text said with MB limited to 500 1 min bars?
How far back can you go with a historical chart on equities?

    thx.

    5 months Eod, Mktman?

NT has a multiple data source feature which allows you to route Eod data from sources other than your primary when scanning Eod. This should work with NT RT as I know it works with NT Eod version.

For example, I use NT eod version to scan for setups using free internet data. I think its Yahoo, but there are many sources. You can go back a long ways into history.

NT RT is the most powerful software I have ever seen. MrFrank is spot on in his commentary regarding its scope of capabilities.

    However there is a caveat.

To me NT is like a large, uncut diamond and if it not cut right, not polished correctly, not marketed by DeBeers, it'll be used on a saw blade instead of jewelry. Everything must go right with NT. When it does, its magic.

MB data seems to be stable. But 100 symbol limit is substandard. Still it works. Esig(or Eturd) as MrF succintly put it probably is the best feed for NT and you can go out to 2000 symbols. Esig is what the main cheeses at Tickquest uses to power their NT. As far as IQfeed is concerned(which is what I used) it works but its... finicky. For some people it works, for me it didnt. I would use NT with MB, but I have too many brokers as it is.

There is an extreme learning curve, but stick with the 2000! pg manual and you can be proficient fairly quickly.

The best scanning program I have ever used. Nice charts too. Read some of Lawrence and Louis blogs and you'll be blown away at what it can do.

    Thanks for th help.
    Been reading through the tutorilas.
Not to complex or steep a learning curve. When your already use to software like this you can pick up the basics pretty easily.

Going to go with MB; as others have.
I too am little leary of the 100 symbol limit with MB. My main point with MB was that if you trade equities mostly and you want to look at charts of a stock months to years back I didnt think MB provided that data?
Thats where a data feed is needed?

Thanks for the info on Iqfeed.
    What was finicky about it?
Did Neo support try and help you get problems with that feed settled?
With a symbol limit of 500 and at only $50 for basic feed worth a months shot.
Who knows may not work for me.
How long ago did you try IQfeed?

    thx.

Is free cash in a margin account at the end of each day swept into a money market account that you've selected?
On MB's wenbsite there is a credit rate 1.3 and a scudder money market fund rate 3.97.
I assume eod cash in a margin account is auto swept into the money market account not into saome other account paying 1.3?

  8. can Neoticker use Tradestation data?

  9. I thought we have a long weekend? :)

    The short answer is no.

TS is not a data vendor and I don't think they are interested to open up their brokerage data.

  10. correct me if i'm wrong...but i think tradestation allows you to automate a trading system...thus i think they would have some sort of data feed to allow you to implement that system?

not to start a debate...but just curious still...
