Neiderhoffer

  1. Let us not forget the outright BS told to Baron:

"I have corresponded with reps from Manchester Trading and Matador, including Victor Niederhoffer himself, and they all say that the speculations posted in the previous thread regarding Matador's positions and liquidations, are completely false. Furthermore, Victor said "Matador is very much viable. Has much cash and positions in excess of all requirements. And has no need to liquidate positions."

    Quote from dhpar:

why don't you post this info and let the thread alive to sort itself out.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why? Because the thread title and the first 20 pages of it contained accusations and statements that are totally untrue.

  3. Well, well, well, Pabst I see you’ve become some sort of an ET Idol – Simon and Paula would be proud.
Personally, I don’t know what people are giving you kudos for? What good did your story do for anyone? Did any of you make money off of it? I don’t think so. Sure, you were the “first” and I guess I could give you a gold star or maybe even a smiley face sticker, but I think I’ll save that for something more meaningful. I think it’s quite sad and indicative of your personalities that you get off on seeing others “fail”…especially those who have accomplished more, in their single lives, than most of you will put together.

  4. If selling OTM puts with OPM and getting a "performance" fee on the winners and bagging folks on losers is your idea of accomplishment then hey, guilty as charged.

I'll leave the blood money to others......

You know, I have to admit, I did not believe this story for a moment when it was first posted. Sure, everytime we see a sharp selloff it's safe to assume that Vic took some kind of a hit as do most premium sellers. But I figured it was being completely over exaggerated like most things on ET. However, to see this story now come to fruition, I have to tip my hat to Pabst. That was one hell of a scoop.

To Anna, please understand that there will be a fair amount of schadenfreude here on ET over this event as there usually is. But for a fund to lose 75% of 250 million is unacceptable and speaks volumes about what is wrong with our society as a whole and the hedge fund industry in particular. The reason you may not be as alarmed over the loss is because it wasn't YOUR money he lost. I think if you were one of the investors, your feelings towards this meltdown would be quite different.

  6. Thanks Pabst! You took a lot of heat on this but were vindicated in the end. Your information was right on the money.

Have any of Vic's brown-nosed half-wit defenders PM'ed you to apologize?

...No? I didn't think so. They are all noticeably silent here.

  7. I give him Kudos for coming here and speaking the truth. He was the only one sticking his neck on the line in the face of outright lies and a campaign of spreading disinformation. Several people owe him an apology including your good buddy MS.

    Kudos to Pa(b)st Prime.

hm... I guess maintaining an air of normalcy is imperative in running a hedge fund.

  9. It teaches Elite Traders to listen when Pabst speaks, and to give little credence to the blatherings of ET lighweights like MarketSurfer.

  10. His investors aren’t morons - they are aware of what risk is and the lack of regulations involved in HFs. His investors are as sophisticated as he is. Just because I’m not calling VN a “loser/fraud/crock” doesn’t mean I don’t find his losses alarming. Furthermore, I sincerely doubt that the people posting those comments on VN are doing so because they are so “alarmed” about his loss.
