Swoosh goes the F.O.S. Express. As an aside, I don't think that Covel's book was either well-written or entertaining. It was downright evangelical and preachy without substance. However, I don't believe that the "premise was fatally flawed." Even so, it was a P.O.S. I think it's interesting that, as someone who believes in the value of trend following, I would not endorse Covel's book, whereas you, who believes it is "fatally flawed," did endorse it. I'm just marveling at how glorious a future you could have had if only you were able to muster a decent LSAT score.
your entitled to your opinion concerning covel, its valid. but its only your opinion and its at odds with most others. the vast majority of reviewers and the public disagree with you. trendys and non trendys enjoyed the book--- i believe its the number one selling book of its kind of all time. what can i say, tdog, you're out of step with the zeitgeist.
Mere details fall within the realm of poetic license for a high-concept man like marketsurfer. Such details include, but are certainly not limited to, misspellings and malapropisms. Don't dwell on such minutia, Lamont, otherwise you may find yourself out of step with the Zeitgeist.
hey, your right, my mistake. however, it is spelled with an I in numerous sources. check google. surf
i would place a little more significance on reviewers like these: âMichael Covel does an excellent job of educating his readers about the little-known opportunities available to them through one of the proven best hedge fund strategies. This book is like gold to any smart investor.â âChristian Baha, CEO, Superfund âMichael Covelâs Trend Following: Essential.â âEd Seykota, Trend Follower for 35 years and Original Market âInvestment books that have a lasting appeal offer insight that resonates with a large number of investors. We believe Michael Covelâs Trend Following will be such a book.â âRichard E. Cripps, Legg Mason Chief Market Strategist and with special emphasis on his new book released 10.9.2007: http://www.michaelcovel.com/archives/001350.html Bill Miller, Legg Mason Capital Management, Summer 2007 "If you want to beat the market, you have to do something different from what everyone else is doing, and you have to be right. In this fascinating and instructive book, Michael Covel tells how a group of novice traders used a system that generated trades that were both different and right, and which made them a lot of money. If you want to understand the real world of trading, read this book." surf
Your duplicity (or schizophrenia?) is stunning. You are going out of your way to defend a book you believe is "fatally flawed." You refer to the importance of endorsements which you had previously dismissed as typically being nothing more than "professional courtesy." More specifically, you refer to the importance of Ed Seykota's endorsement, but you had previously questioned his sanity in another thread: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=41040&highlight=seykota+insane Perhaps I should start a similar thread about you. P.S. Why would anyone want to read Covel's Turtle book when they can read Curtis Faith's book?
