Negative Rates - Is that where we're headed?

    Who "they" are you referring to? The BLS, who computes inflation in the U.S.? According to the CPI Handbook of Methods which is freely viewable to anyone who can be bothered to do a simple web search and take time to read it at https://www.bls.gov/opub/hom/pdf/cpihom.pdf The handbook that starting on page 12 goes into excruciating detail on exactly how rent is included in CPI. And on page 22-24 goes into excruciating detail on how insurance is included?

    Is that the "they" you refer to? Or is it some made-up group that exists only in your own head.

  2. Yes i was foolish to not do my research properly. But my country does exclude them, so do all neighbour countries, so I just thought it would be an international standard. PS act more polite in the future or risk getting banned without further notice.

    I apologize. I've responded to at least 5 different folks here who are convinced of some vast conspiracy in the CPI calculation who couldn't be bothered to actually read the methodology and mistakenly put you in that bucket.
