Trying to get head around my 4sma / envelopes setups, works great in history but live valid but hard to trust. Obviously all I'm after is, market heads to low of range in uptrend, it will :- 1. Reverse and make me $$$.s 2. Break through and hit my SL. Trying to use shorter term momo to increase the profit and reduce the no.2 effect. So slower, but not to slow, which is the tricky part, so market stops making new lows outside of the 4's tiny range, that's likely good enough. Not going to hair line trigger it with a SL like I used to do, too many spikes ruining good trades, sticking with the 15-20SL plan, and 2nd position at next 4 based moment turning flat. Still all about trading with the 20's direction as that's fast enough to be valid enough, entries based on the 4 with that, so less extreme entries, less chance of trend reversal also great. More go with the flow required!! Odds on trading today, low, it's a friday, I need to ride my bike!
Not enough setups to hold my attention, when I do get time to trade, going faster. 4sma, 13sma and 24sma based! Same plan, jump on the 13/24's direction, using the 4's range/direction and the 13's range, simple. Ill all week, so really haven't been bothered, spotted a few though, all looking good.
Methods getting out of control again, I'll blame being ill or going crazy. The 13 range is better than the 20, keeping that, 24 was too fast, going with..... 13sma, 13 sma Envelope 0.06% 30sma Envelope 0.01%. Got to look for pauses with the direction and just trust that the direction will continue, trying to time it via the 4, well in trying to not catch a falling knife your constantly getting useless prices, which doesn't really work out well real time. Direction, Hop on, don't make it more complicated, no direction don't bother. Stick with 2 positions, if direction still holds and price gets better, well rude not to doube up. Exit when direction turns ofcourse.
New setting, sure today atleast look like an easy sweet spot, I've added a 2nd Envelope 13 0.09% being where my SL is, momo is strong enough to get that far from the MA then odds are it'll keeping going, so good place to SL and reverse. Just been watching, too rough to actually bother trading ( playing Tanks on Ipad LOL )
Methods, got a nice simple scalpy, with the trend ish vibe to it, just need the health and time and patience to sit here and wait for the setups. Your right, NO CHANCE, not 1 trade all week, despite only working for 4hours
Few trades today, up $210 area Keeping it Real real simple, market is going up, buy a pause in that direction, take profit and repeat. Trading, GA, EA, DAX and EJ ( EJ's weak today, but has it's moments ), they suite this style, ie persistent momo better. Stay away from news and extreme direction change times and it's pretty stress free Going to reduce my Journal posting, at this stage, less posting, more actual trading, less emotional, I know what has to be done, just got to do it!!
2 trades today, 1 was down -$250 area, bailed correctly -$60 area. 2nd trade, well 3 positions some how took 2 shorts on my phone, while making a phone call and it made $150 so good day!
Moving to brief over views of the day, 13sma and 30sma ranges working well, look for a Pause, SL under the pause, let it run, okay failing on the letting it run part. Getting into a Groove +$180 today, small, as said a few trades I could of held for $400+ on there own TIRED, very very TIRED, too much work, Kitten keeping me up all night, not riding my bike enough!
Rough day today, changed style to be fair, thats fine, just bad random chance. -320 on the day, 4 trades, no profits. Spike took out last trade -60, it would be +250 here, so not to worried. Spotted loads of setups and missed them just which have worked great. 24envelope range and a 9 envelope, 2 large envelopes where confusing me to often. Must stop trading maybe lol
Got back half the losses so back to within tollerance. Tweaked method is looking better, previous method was working, but slow going, not many setups and half in meant low profit, too easy for me to get emotional and take a bigger than planned hit. I'm never happy what can i say
