To all the smart asses GROW UP and worry about yourselfs. To all those that where helpful thanks. It's not really a big deal to me $$$ wise it's more the principle as to how and why this kind of crap is still happening in todays electronic markets. btw, I trade remote and this is my first prop account ,I've been retail and never had an issue like this in 10 years
Guess it is a HARD lesson on trading shorts... You play with fire, you will eventually get burned. Low Volume will alway get you also.
not trying to be a smart A$$...serously,independent of breaking the trade. I ran every indicator on this thing and see absolutely no reason to be short this. After 10 years i am guessing you at least havea plan and methodoglogy...what was the short indicator on this?
So what ended up happening? They broke all the original buys and you covered entire position after that for a $750 loss? Doesn't make sense that NYS would go so high outside the market...were other people getting filled on those orders also?
Your market buy order went through an ECN...the specialist had nothing to do with this trade. I've had the same problem with ARCA market orders and because of it avoid the order type on NY stocks. In fact you are lucky because the last time this happened to me they would't bust it even though it was nearly $2 over the current market.
Book Value Per Share (mrq): 7.562 Trading $71. Average Volume (3 month)3: 363,008 Pretty light Not a bad short, but not nearly enough volume. c
dac...all of your 10 years of methodology aside...someone was able to make some money on this stock short today...almost no buying support after 11:35
no.. it wasnt MY 10 years...the guy who started the thready said he had just gone prop after bein gin retail for 10 years...i honestly didnt get the methodology for the trade...i really am looking to learn somthing. it gapped up, was in an uptrend....but it did go down with the market today didnt it.
