Need some hardware advice

  1. I'm hoping somebody can help me with a few quesions.

    1. I am getting a new box with dual monitors, can I run the same program like Esignal and then have different charts on each monitor?

    2. What kind of hardware do I need to have a crisp picture like a CRT? What kind of video card and specifics of the monitor will achieve this?

    Thanks.

    1. If you get a recent model new computer, it will probably come with a dualhead ATI X300SE, and that will be fine for 2 monitors.

    2. Many people think the LCD display is cleaner than a CRT. Any modern dualhead card will be fine.

Your considerations should work backwards from monitor(s) => computer, not the other way around.

    That is, consider in order:
    1. What kind of monitors and how many you want to run
    2. What resolution will you run the monitors
    3. How many video cards will you need, depending upon the number of PCI slots you have and peripherals you want to run.
    4. Systemboard (PC) which will do what you want.

  3. Yes. gnome is very kind.
Be specific, especially when asking a tech issue.
The more specific, the better answers.
