    Hi,
I'm thinking of automating my hedging strategy, and I need a machine which will be on almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the trading software running so it can send orders when my triggers are hit.

Obviously there are concerns of overheating and issues with memory leaks and things like that slowing the system down.

What sort of hardware would I need, to start with, to implement something like this?

And is there any kind of fail-safe detection software out there that would alert you if there is some kind of problem with the computer?

Lastly are there any books out there which deal with this aspect of trading?

    Thanks.
