Guys, I already answered this here:

Why use a little peewee 30" monitor. At least get one 55" Sony Bravia.

I currently have 23 FEET of screen space. Yes, you heard that right, 23 FEET mofos ! I can safely say I probably have the best screen setup on all of ET if not the US. Lol.

    My office:

When I get tired and want to just watch streaming video from the internet with the built in wifi:

  3. He can squeeze lots more on his 30 inch than you can on both 50+ inch tv sets.

PIPMAGIC, you have no idea what you're talking about. I run 1920x1200 on each of my Bravias.

I'd love to see how someone can squeeze more viewable space onto 30 inches than the 120 inches running on 2 of my Bravias at the rez I mentioned, even if he is doing 2560 x 1600 on the 30".

Anyway, thats all I have to say. I'll take 23 FEET of screen over 30 inches any day. Have fun squinting. Lol

Are you sure it is not 1920x1080? If you are sure would you mind posting a picture of small text on such a screen taken with a camera? Juts a few word will suffice to see if the text is blurred.
It is not about "space" as such, it is about the "level of detail".

At 1920x1080 resolution a 120" plasma screen shows exactly the same picture as a 1920x1080 17" screen on a laptop.

Imagine a blurred photo. If you print it 10 times larger it won't become more crisp. It will just be the same hopelessly blurred photo but 10 times larger.

Same goes for large screens. If anyone has seen old-fasioned 30" "analogue" TV screens, they must have notices these screens didn't have any more datailed picture than smaller screens. The 30" just had huge pixels visible from a few meters away.

  6. That's remarkable feet considering a Sony Bravia is capable of only 1920X1080 pixels :)

Haha, thats funny. I put 1200 instead of 1080, barely matters.

Anyway, look at the thread I posted for images I took with the lens 1" away. Boom ! Game over

zanek, what's the status; did santa bring more hardware? How about a pic of your most excellent setup from behind the chair?
