1. Only trade on Friday 2. Find stocks with EXTREMELY high RVOL. You are looking for 4-5x RVOL on stocks like AMZN,TSLA,BA,etc 3. Hope for a 20-50 point move.
Thinkorswim doesn't have an RVOL indicator. What's the closest thing to it in Thinkorswim? Thank you!
Thank you @notagain. How would you trade the Roku scenario. 1) Would you have traded it before earnings? Held through earnings release? 2) Buy the dip / continue shorting? And your reasoning behind your trades? Thank you!
Thank you guys for your help! Especially to those encouraging and providing advice for executing my idea. But I also appreciate those shooting down my plan, I understand where you're coming from too.
Not built in.. Do some google-fu and you can find the appropriate thinkscript code.Create a column on your watch list and use that code, and you should end up with something like this. The key to big trades. High RVOL + High TrueRange TBH, if your plan is to throw 10k into a single trade, you will most likely lose. I would at least split that into 4ths.
If it helps any. Here are a few of the monster options trades from the past few months. I'm sure there are a few not on the list. UNH - 04/16 UNH - 04/11 TSLA - 10/25 AMZN - 8/23 NFLX - 9/20 ROKU - 9/20 AMZN - 10/25 Basically, you need a big directional move on a large-cap, on a thursday or friday. Those type of opportunities don't come too often, so you might be waiting a while.
