Some good advice here, I have suffered from the same mentality without the same outcome. The most important trading lesson that I have learnt is that trading isn't about making money it's about preserving capital. If you preserve your capital (through appropriate risk management) then no matter what happens you always survive to trade another day.
I would personally do a lot of research before trading and putting real money in. Know how stocks and prices move before you do anything else. Figure out patterns. Really know what you are doing before you put any money into it. Once you know how stocks move up and down, start very small. If you cannot make money with 2k you won't make money with 20k or 100k. Don't dream of millions. Dream of being a good trader and hopefully you will have millions
Have to say a nic with need, desperate and help all wrapped together - your problems will continue. For change to start, focus on better feeling thoughts. May you transform this stumbling block into a stepping stone.
What did you do specifically? I’ve got a checklist that i read every single morning and night once each for my system/entries but not for psychology, think I’ll start with making a checklist for my trading psychology which I’ll read every morning
Yea thats the question.. I don’t know. I want to make sure I will NEVER do it again which will take some work. I’m way more honest now than before last night. Gonna analyse every single emotion felt and why it happened.
Dude, you said you lost everything. You have no more money left. So how the hell are you trading your life away, again? Because you never traded your life away in the first place. Your story STINKS to high-heaven. Why don't you come clean and tell us what is REALLY going on? "...I’m way more honest now than before last night..." Indeed. You need pie. But first you need Cylons.
That’s more like being a tourist. You’re gonna have to put some real emotional work in to make any meaningful longterm difference.
It happens brother. You get into a trade and it goes against you . You start feel like wtf??? You lose some or alot and it feels desperate or anger. This is when you need to calm down and walk away from your computer. At 1st it'll be hard. And you know what, so will the 2nd and 3rd time. But keep on trying it. It gets better. Have you ever heard of Tim Grittani. I really think you need to watch his webinar. You can find it on youtube. Hes a young trader like yourself and talks a lot about trading psychology and what he went thru. He talks about the time he lost over 200,000 on a single trade and all the ups and downs he experienced with his emotions before, after and even now. I hope you can look for this guy on youtube. You'll see what I mean. You'll see how this great trader experienced everything you experienced and still does. And you'll hear what he has to do about controlling. Hes actually very honest and in depth about it. And the thing is he's still young like you . I think you can relate to him and everything he says. I know I do .
