  1. hey guys, was recently let go from a top trading firm for not staying within their risk parameters.

I had a great profitability track record while there but not too long, was only there for a couple years and some of that was as a trainee.

Where can I go from here? Want to keep trading options.

  4. That's not very informative!

  5. OTCkrak ... THAT was fucking funny !!!!

    Nicely done.

Cayman ... What was the margin agreement and how bad did you violate it?

Don't waste time typing about how it was a "really good" or "really profitable" trade or whatever.

Just talk about what you agreed to and how far you went past that agreement.

Trust me ... I am not handling you any differently here than most firms will face to face when you bring this up.

  6. +1!

  7. I'll put it like this. The firm probably has the tightest restrictions on the street and my violation did not warrant a termination. But, it was a violation and I had been warned before so I couldn't really argue with the dismissal.

That being said, I've learned from the mistake, still have a great understanding of options with a great track record.

Looking for option firms in the Chicago area.
