I am going to go take the RIA exam again and want to manage people's money.. Questions: 1) Is it smart to incorporate? If yes, in Nevada ok? I live in CA. 2) Are there places that will take an RIA who is just starting out on his own independently? 3) Is it true you can have 15 accounts from family and friends without a license? This may get me started atleast while I am studying for the test. 4) Can I charge an hourly rate for some people if they just seek advice? 5) Can I write newsletters and try to market them regarding stocks etc without a license or do I need to register my newsletter somewhere? Thanks alot for all advice. I think this board is full of intelligent people.. p.s. In case you don't know, I was downsized after a long career on the buyside. I don't see a future on the buyside with all the algorithms. thanks!
