I can't comment on the effectiveness of Atticus' recipe although don't forget it's not clinically approved but on the other hand it does have some scientific foundation and doesn't seem dangerous so it is probably worth trying for a potentially life threatening condition. What I wanted to note is if you try to DIY the formulation make sure that you do some research on the ingredients (Wikipedia should be enough) so you won't order DMO instead of DMSO for example and the most important: Source the ingredients of the HIGHEST purity grade you can find. For example there is very cheap industrial grade DMSO but NEVER use that. Don't try to save money there just pay up: Atticus link looks OK. Also take care not to contaminate your infredients during storage or preparation.
What do you think the results of the topical stack would be without the dsmo? I take reserve and coq10 but feel like my absorption is in the 2% range because I take the orally.
I won't go into detail on the absurdity of FDA approval, only to say that my mother had an LVEF of 10 due to Dox-induced cardiomyopathy. Her LVEF rose to 50 only three months after taking 1g daily of the CoQ10. No other supplements were taken and this form of cardiomyopathy cannot be treated, at least as Western medicine is concerned.
CoQ10 may have some topical effects, but is a fairly large molecule and is not going to result in a measurable plasma conc when applied to the skin. Resv is a small molecule and will achieve plasma conc taken with DMSO. It will avoid 1st pass but eventually it's conjugated in the liver into cis-resv, which is probably an active metabolite as well. IOW, I wouldn't attempt a transdermal delivery if you're attempting a high plasma concentration. Just take the caps with something like hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (or alone). You simply need to take more if not using a carrier.
One of the many reasons that less new drugs become available. Even gonorrhoea becomes resistant these days: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15238613 That's really deep detail! Small organic molecules can be brickdust sometimes (ie not dissolving in water). I'm not in ADMET but I've made a lot of brickdust lol. I've found Cremophor was one of the best for the job (it is a castor oil derivative)
I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and the very best in 2013. Thank you for all your prayers and the feedback. My brother underwent immediate surgery to excise out the cancer in his colon and is currently undergoing 6 month Chemo regime at MD Anderson in Houston to reduce possibility of re-occurring elsewhere. He's going every 2 weeks and its beginning to wear him down. At this point we're adding Circumin, CoQ10, grape seed extract and Astaxanthin to juiced green vegies to keep his energy levels up. This has been a major wake up call for me to overhaul my own diet. Please continue to post on the open forum instead of PMs so all can learn. Especial thanks to Atticus!
Atticus, how about taking an oral combination of dmso, with q10 plus resveratrol, i.e., 1 oz of dmso, plus 400 mg of q10 in powdered capsules, plus 1 costco resveratrol capsule?? for internal cancers etc??? Paula
