We all have access to information, we all compile it based on our capabilities and biases, we act, then we have to deal with the consequences of our choices. Regarding cancer, there are two aspects: prevention, and treatment. It's definitely better to prevent it through purposeful life choices. In my opinion extending life with major loss of life quality is not a worthy solution for the patient, even if desired by loving relatives, and pushed by the medical establishment.
The Inuit's diet is lacking in any diversity. I am sure they have a lot of problems. What's their incidence of cancer? Edit: just found a reference http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/2008/07/cancer-among-inuit.html It is (slightly alkaline), and what you've suggested in this thread would kill the organism if it were persistant. Obviously this slight alkalinity is not what we're referring to when discussing blood chem and pH. Vegans die of cancer every day. We're not talking about Atkins or hip fractures. You stated that achieving an alkaline state will treat cancer. Human physiology doesn't work that way and now you're trying to backpedal. I really don't care, but your ego won't let you out of this foolish discussion. The benefits related to eating green leafy stuff has NOTHING to do with alkalinity. You cannot make the blood alkaline through eating veggies. You're correct that cancer cells cannot survive in sufficient alkalinity, but neither can normal cells. There are fantastic molecules in green stuff. Broccoli has sulforaphane which interferes with the androgen receptor in prostate cancer cells. This is but one example.
She's got you on tilt atticus. she's got you running incircles. She's got you like stretched way out  i have no clue what you're arguing for now? You were doing great for awhile...now you're running for cover
Wait, I don't recall stating that. I made a specious connection between the baking soda promoters and the whole foods plant based diet that makes the body quite inhospitable to cancer. Baking soda is alkaline; WFPB diet is alkaline. Certainly not a connection I'd use in a debate, but the baking soda promoters must've gotten their quirky ideas somewhere... I'm starting to like him!
Ya, vegan on days 1, 3, 5, 7 and eat like an Inuit on the even days. So my bones will be strong and I'll be immune to C like an Inuit.
The body will do anything it can to keep the blood in it's very tight ph range, the rest of the body's ph is allowed to float a good bit. Alkalinity is not about blood ph, it's about the ph of the cells or the surroundings of the cells. Sometimes people smell like ammonia when they die because the body is throwing everything it has at the alkalinity situation. There are plenty of things that could be very true and keep us all very healthy but will never be properly tested. If there is no grant money or corporate profits in something then it's never tested. Colloidal silver has never been tested but I've used it via a nebulyzer for pneumonia, colds, flus, sinus infections, etc. on myself and others and it works great. I've talked to people that cured their own cancer after exhausting everything that medical science had to offer. Those conversations were about vegan diets and special foods like mushrooms and herbs. I believe that the vegan diet is great for overcoming disease but not so great for having a life. Brain nutrition is missing from it. Some Indians in the Amazon had a few hundred plants that they had selected for their medicines. There were a hundred thousand types of plants in their area. The question was asked "how do they know which ones to use?". The answer was they put them under their pillows and their dreams spoke to them. In spite of all this bullshit science we have going on we might as well put stuff under our pillows and learn to listen to our dreams and experiment. That will actually work a lot better than this insane Big Pharma thingy we have going.
