Need a better browser

  1. don't waste your time with those browsers. it's just a source of problems and aggravation. I can' t watch Bloomberg even though I have Real player installed, I can 't see Flash animations etc etc. Always some sH*t that I need to download. With IE everything is bundled and that 's what 's great about it.

  2. You're darn right Kicking. For me, I NEVER download any of that crap. What do you need this for? I simply need a browser that works to get me to yahoo, google and a bunch of forums with their related url's.

  3. Does someone use browsercraft ? (It's an addon to IE which is better than a substitute to IE except if you hate IE of course :D)
    http://www.browsercraft.com

How on earth you create a button for an url in mybar ? I have erased the example and I don't see where it is in the doc.

  4. Firefox needs the Java plug-in that is available for free here. http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp
It takes all of 30 seconds to load and work....wow! Problems and aggravation....not!

I loaded it, and sites like Foxnews.com, LiveCharts, and Bloomberg streaming video work perfectly. I checked these web sites, and have Bloomberg streaming right now.

Firefox is only a .8 release, so it didn't come with it "bundled" together. It is not a big time commercial release like Microsoft (for all the goodness that gets you).

You can continue to use convienent IE if you wish, I had nothing but problems with probably about 30 data miners a week being installed to my computer. With Firefox I have had no data miners, trojans, or Java bugs, or any pop-up ads at all in a couple of months. I had to make a move away from IE, after dealing with these small daily problems I had a big time problem with some sort of browser hi-jack that when I opened IE it re-wrote the data miners and hi-jack items I had just removed with Ad-aware. It also removed my MS Notepad and did a bunch of other things. I finally had to re-format to finally be rid of it. IE is just a big easy target with poor security.

    Nothing good ever comes easy!

  5. that means an idiot is writing the webpage.

if the webmaster is good at what he's doing, it will work with all browsers from at least IE/Netscape 3.0

  6. I am sure the Java developers would argue that using Java in the development of a web site adds to the experience and interaction with the user.

Point is, it is an very easy work around with Firefox and Java rich sites can be enjoyed.
