Need a better browser

  1. Kicking, funny u mentioned ie6 being correupted. Yesterday, my ie6 just stopped working!. Type any url and it just says invalid syntax on the window title. It does not even attempt to open the web page as evidenced by theabsence of blue status bar at bottom right.

    Hmmm...

  5. Crazybrowser seems to have a problem using the latest IE6 elements like buttons and checkboxes. It was written 2 years ago so that may be the cause. It's a shame because CB has the best pop-up control of the lot.

Avant is super - updated frequently, there's a great message board and the author answers your questions/requests.

MyIE2 works well but pop-ups seem to occasionally cause the browser to minimize to the taskbar.

Netcaptor (30 bucks) seems to work the best. They introduced a free version but it contains ads.

  6. I installed Mozilla as a temporary solution to the IE6 problem I had, so my 2d machine is back online. I like IE interface better, this looks like an old netscape from 1995. How do I import my favorites in Mozilla?

edit: ok i see the bookmarks are already imported, good
but how do I change the homepage?

  7. Agree 100%.

Having tried many, firefox is the one that serves me best. Besides, it's the only one that correctly handles - updating and retrievel - of IE bookmarks. In fact it even handles original IE bookmarks correctly in places where IE itself screws up for some crazy M$ reason.

I use both the Windows and the Linux versions. Equally good!

    Be good,

    nononsense

  8. OK, thanks for all the replies.

Now, let me reiterate the main question: does any of these browsers allow to cut and copy a whole bunch of favorities by highlighting them and then using Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V, if you know what I mean?

This can be done in Windows Explorer, but I want this to be done in the browser's favorites pane. Slimbrowser cannot do this, IE6 cannot do it either. Can this be done in Opera? Can Opera be used with IE6 seamlessly just like Slimbrowser? Can any other sofware you recommended do it? I just found out that Slimbrowser does not save favorities to its favorities pane. You have to exit the browser to see the favorities pane updated. It does update the favorities pulldown menu, but who cares about that!! That's in ver 3.80, not the latest one, but still not so old either. I mean, what kind of joke is this?

  9. I downloaded Slimbrowser, it doesn't work I guess because it works with IE. Anyway I don't like it I want my IE back! I don't like Mozilla, I am having annoying problems with it on Quote.com
    what about Netscape?
