Need 2 Year Propane Chart Please

  1. Can somebody that trades energies post a continuous propane chart - at least a year - preferably two years.

    Thanks.

  2. There's no liquidity in NYMEX propane, 99.9% of it trades OTC. Hence the lack of any decent charts...Many days not a single NYMEX contract trades.

If you want more info on OTC propane check out OPIS and ChemConnect.

  3. ig0r

    ig0r

Do they both settle to the same thing? Why not arb the pit and otc trades?

  4. No, the OTC contracts settle against an OTC index e.g. OPIS Mt. Belvieu.

For all intents and purposes, NYMEX propane does not exist. Every who trades propane trades OTC, not NYMEX.

  5. Thanks for the info Petro.

I was looking at the long dated months on Barcharts out to sometime in 06 then realized the damn things had no vol. and no OI.

I'm arguing with my fuel dealer.

  6. Generally speaking, if your dealer offers you a fixed price, he's simply buying Mt. Belvieu forwards/swaps from one of his suppliers.
