Reading thru this thread (and many others like it in recent months), I keep getting those images in my head of EVERY single movie that's ever depicted the future as one of just complete anarchy and decay. I'm still amazed that there are people that think there is some "orderly" outcome to this shitstorm. The "kick the can" strategy ensures competitive devaluation and continued declines in the standard of living (and debatedly improves absolutely nothing). The "reset" strategy ensures anarchy, third world level crime and poverty, etc, etc...
Observation: Remember those neighborhood flyers you find on the convenience store counters. The local 1 pagers usually filled with coupons, discounts and local news. They've become the local crime blotters now. 50 Million impoverished leads to desperate times and crimes. Once the homeless realize they get free room, board, cable TV and healthcare in the clink the rooms are gonna fill up fast.
