Maybe you should understand the concept of tourism. Covid only started to increase in Gibraltar after they opened up for tourism. This has been outlined and discussed previously.

Who goes on vacation to Romania. Maybe we should also point out the severe restrictions in Romania throughout most of 2021; nightly lockdowns, outdoor masks required, etc. Showing that proper public health policies work -- even in the face of low vaccinations.

Ah! So Tourism is a driver of COVID?

But what about Florida in the winter? Tourism isn't a driver there, right? Its all DeSantis. Where's the meme with the superhero sweating over two buttons, GWB?

Make one and label one button "Gibraltar cases spike because tourism" and another "Florida cases spike because DeSantis".

Note that countries which apply proper public health policies -- even with low vaccination rates -- have much better Covid outcomes in terms of the number of cases and number of severely ill.

Note that you avoided the question.

Is tourism a factor or not in cases spiking?

One of a great number of factors. A more important factor is having proper public health policies to reduce transmission.

So is the spike in Gibraltar from tourism? Can't weasel your way out of this one, NPC. Best you can do is vanish like a fart in the wind as usual.

The opening of Gibraltar tourism and the rollback of Covid mitigation measures to support tourism -- led to the spike in Covid in Gibraltar. This is well documented. It should also be noted in the early days after re-opening that most of those infected with Covid in Gibraltar were tourists or people involved directly in the hospitality industry.

It should also be noted that the population of Gibraltar is so small that only a small number of cases yield a large spike in percentages. Remember the earlier Gibraltar "spike" after re-opening due to tourism-- where people criticized Gibraltar for their huge rate increase initially involved under 30 people total.
