Cloth masks are useless for the most part, most do not have any filters. And those that have filters still have huge gaps around the nose area. Like wearing a mask with a hole. N95 and KN95 masks is what people should be wearing. These masks are disposable. After a while, I notice you have a hard time breathing and that is when I discard them and wear a brand new one. Chances are good, it is dirty and it is already clogged. The Corona Virus is spread thru the air so enclosed areas are riskier than outdoors. Yet, extreme liberal Democrat governors ban outdoor dining? They are really hard at work destroying the US totally from within. So much for the science, these clowns cannot find themselves out of a wet paper bag.
I have no experience personally with N-95s so when I talk about masks I am not referring to them. However, my wife had to wear them at work most of the time for a while. No only in certain areas... I believe. But... they are very particular about the manufacturer of the the cloth masks at some of the hospitals she works in. No crap blue masks from China.
An engineer actually, tested masks and he found the N95 and KN95 masks gave you the most protection against viruses. Those masks are snug around the nose and also, cover your mouth. I find it hilarious when people where a mask below the nostrils. Why bother with a mask when your nose is wide open waiting for viruses to be inhaled?
In college during internships...we work with the earlier types of respirator masks prior to the N95 respirator being invented in the mid 90's. In grad school, studying the spread of drug-resistant tuberculosis, we worked with the earlier type of N95 respirator. Many years later in 2016, after coming out of an almost 2 month coma / life support / quarantine from a deadly airborne infection (caught in France)...every medical person that enter the infectious disease ward or my room... They all wore N95 masks. Not one person became infected. In contrast, when I first became ill and collapsed at a different hospital...three individuals became infected and they wore normal surgical masks. Nobody will ever be able to convince me that wearing N95 respirator face masks does not prevent Covid-19. In contrast, walking around in public especially indoors during this Pandemic...most of the people I see wearing different types of face mask...they are not wearing the face masks properly and wearing the wrong type of face masks. Therefore, when I hear people say that face masks don't work...what's being wore in public or so as inferior face masks in stores / online...the face masks I typically see are crap (not N95). Unfortunately, at the start of the Pandemic...most N95 were being made out of Asia. Asia then closed the shipments of the N95 masks to their global customers...it produce a global shortage. What about typical surgical masks...they can minimize your germs from reaching others but it doesn't prevent 100% of your germs. Yet, they do minimize the viral load so that those around you have a better fighting chance if they become infected. By the way, I've only seen maybe a handful of people during the Pandemic wear medical googles. Those that wear them (I do)...understand that the eyes is a route for airborne infection to enter the body. Again, I think all masks - regardless of type - provide some level of protection. The level of protection varies with the quality of the mask, of course. Mask mandates, however, are ineffective because people ignore them. So mask mandates don't work.
Mask mandates have been proven to work in multiple states -- with scientific data to prove they work. The COVID case infection rate drops after a mask mandate was put into place.
Once again a chart with a source so poor that you are unwilling to provide the url of the Tweet or Blog pushing this nonsense. Same story over and over. It's time you went to reputable mainsteam sources for your information rather than COVID conspiracy theorists on the internet.
