We are afraid that thanks to anti-vaxxers a new more infectious variant has spread widely. Thanks to these adult anti-vaxxers our hospitals are over flowing, businesses have restrictions, and we need to wear masks again to stop the soread. This strictly is the fault of anti-vaxxers — point the finger at them.

You better go look up Base Rate Fallacy and thoroughly understand it.

Tell us — what is the breakthrough rate among those vaccinated and in the hospital.

So you're saying those numbers reported from Israel aren't true? Because, as usual, it sounds like you're trying to tap dance and obfuscate rather than just make a claim that can be supported by hard numbers.

Let's address the Israel situation once again.... or you can just go read all the previous posts on the subject.

The proper definition of breakthrough cases is the total number of fully vaccinated cases divided by the number of people fully vaccinated in a population. This is the meaningful number. The number of vaccinated versus unvaccinated in a hospital as a pin-point of time without understanding the larger situation.

It appears you are suffering from Base Rate Fallacy. This particular article describes it in context of Israel.

Let's provide some insight... as of 3 days ago 78% of the eligible Israeli population has been vaccinated or 60% of the total population is fully vaccinated. For a total of 5.4 million people who are fully vaccinated. Let's assume that 60% of the 50,000 recent active cases in people are among the fully vaccinated. (they are not) -- this would give us a 30,000 (I will note the actual number was 11,563 for age 20 & over in early August). The Israel Heath dashboard provides detailed information.

So worst case 30,000 breakthrough cases / 5.4 million fully vaccinated is a 0.55% breakthrough case rate (worst case) in Israel.

For a deeper look at Israeli breakthrough cases by age and Simpsons Paradox take a look here.

Ah, so you're saying that based on the numbers of people vaccinated, the % of people who are exhibiting symptoms is so small that it is statistically irrelevant and a non-issue. I think I see.

But it is OK to call 10 children sick since the start of the pandemic in Florida (a state with approximately 3 million school aged children) something we have to be concerned about?

So easy to catch you in your hypocrisy. It's child's play, really. You literally step into this crap like walking over a rake.

incidentally, the issue isn't the number of people who are vaccinated being sick as a percentage of the amount of people vaccinated. You clearly don't know how to think critically.

The issue is the number of seriously ill people in the hospital and the number of those people who were vaccinated.

Extreme liberal idiot GWB, including, ET trolls do not follow science. If these idiots have to live and die with their utter BS and lies, they and their entire families would be dead soon enough. It may still come when these idiots contract Corona Virus and given the treatment directed by the CDC. They love the CDC and bow to everything they say, including, extreme liberal hacks. In other news, those so called vaccines, which are experimental drugs, shows us how risky they are and not enough tests to guarantee their safety but, extreme liberal idiots continue to push them as effective and nothing to worry about? Okay fools. Did you take your 3rd and 4th booster shots yet?

This is what matters. I just buried my cousin in Durant, he was a Trumper and wouldn't get it. He was a year younger than me, this makes 2 otherwise healthy unvaccinated people I was close to that it has killed. The vaccinations required for my kids in school in Texas no less is below that, covid should absolutely be added to the list when approved. How a mediocre businessman getting elected caused 70m people to go full retard, I will never understand.

    Very sorry for your loss.

I buried an uncle last spring. Died of lung cancer - wouldn't stop smoking. Stupid. Can't blame Trump or the cigarette companies or anyone government for it, though. Man smoked of his own choice. Life is about risk.

5 years ago I buried my father. Died of the pneumonia after being on anti-rejection medication most his life. No one's fault.

I don't blame the people in the hospital who were around him that probably transmitted the pneumonia when he got his hip replacement a few months prior. That's how life works.

The risk to all of those viruses you mentioned in your post are far greater to children. They should be vaccinated. Those vaccines were around for a long, long time.

Not so with COVID. Their risk is insignificant. The vaccine is not long-tested. So no, they don't need it.

Your unfortunate experience, while tragic, doesn't change any of this and your vested decision is emotion in nature. That's fine. You do what works for you and I'll do what works for me.
