Take a look at the COVID death reporting chart for Texas -- there is a typical lull on Sunday, holidays, and weekends. As explained in the article - "Public health experts said the day-to-day discrepancy is likely due to the method of reporting COVID deaths, which usually requires an autopsy and other steps that can cause gaps between the time of death and when it is actually reported to the state." In other words - the coroners don't come into the office until Monday to do the autopsies.

It is very disingenuous for Gov. Abbott to be bragging about zero deaths for a single day when every reasonable person knows the report is simply related to the reporting cycle in Texas.

Ok, it is disingenuous for Abbott to brag about it. But you didn't answer my question. The 23 deaths is for what period of time?

You also didn't comment on all the other fantastic numbers coming out of Texas - including those from your posted article.

Considering the huge majority of stores in Texas still required masks, a huge majority of people still worse masks, and most public facilities did not host large events after Abbott ended restrictions -- the improving numbers reflect that people ignored him and followed CDC guidance. It should be noted that the rural GOP counties which did not use masks had increasing cases and deaths in Texas. The state's improvement in numbers are driven by urban areas which did not follow Abbott's guidance.

    that is bullshit reasoning..
the mandate ended... and people were free to do what they wished..
that means everyone could follow the guidance as they wished.

    that is the good thing.

hence there was no reason for the mandate.

    b. it should be noted even if you what you claim is true... and you have not supported it... rural counties also got the virus at different times.
the virus goes up and then it goes done... regardless of masks.

So when numbers improve in a state with no mask mandate, its because people wear masks anyway, but when numbers don't improve or get worse in states WITH mask mandates, its because people don't follow the mandate. How very convenient for you!!

Texans are far more compliant than the Japanese, for example.

This chart is laughable.. It includes no context around the other events in Japan including the re-opening of travel to prepare for the Olympics, the regional/local reduction of restrictions, companies bringing people back into the office or the introduction of variants.

I will note the number of cases in Japan is much smaller per capita than many other nations. The number of cases they have for a nation of 126 million is much lower than many U.S. states -- even at the Japanese peak.

Now you want context... you are disgusting.

How many times did you post crap showing mask mandates and lower covid rates in Kansas and crap like that and pretended that meant masks worked?

Vaccinated liberals wearing masks...proves the adage that today's liberalism is a mental disease.
