It doesn't exactly "prove" that. Again you show your poor critical thinking skills. That is one possible conclusion/influence, but that's it. Without additional data, it is impossible to say anything is proven. Also, still waiting for the quote I took out of context. Did you forget?
Week In Review 4-26-21 IM Apr 27 International Back on December 30th, The Wall Street Journal posted a lengthy article explaining how India was seeing uncontrolled COVID spread, only to beat their curve back with masks. This quote, from the third paragraph, really summarizes the tone of the piece: One of the main reasons, Indian health officials say, is that the country has managed to encourage and enforce almost universal acceptance of masks without much debate. Ah! Got it. Universal acceptance of masks without much debate. Statements like this are great because they cut right through one of the favored arguments from mask proponents, that mandates don’t mean compliance. So here we have Indian health officials saying that there’s been universal acceptance of masks. No compliance issues there! Cases have risen 1400% since the article was published and to my knowledge, no updates have been posted wondering why the masks stopped working. As always, masks are a heads I win, tails you lose proposition. They’re credited when cases decline and ignored when cases go up. India might be the clearest example yet of the media’s desire to prematurely declare winners and losers based on mask policy. As always, they’ll likely attribute the remarkably severe rise in growth rate there to lack of “vigilance,” instead of acknowledging that masks were never the reason cases went down. Germany’s another example of the incessant desire to praise a country for perceived success. Hailed as a “Master class in science communication,” with extremely high mask wearing rates, Germany still saw a higher peak of newly reported deaths than Sweden over the winter. Just as importantly, Germany’s medical grade mask mandate hasn’t resulted in better results over the past three months. Not only has Chile had some of the longest mask mandates in the world, their rules are so strictly enforced that they fined the literal President of the country $3,500 for taking a maskless picture outside on a beach. Absurdity aside, they also recommended medical grade masks and required them at all times while in public. Yet cases have risen again, back close to the highest levels of the pandemic. Why aren’t the higher quality masks working? Because none of them work. Ontario’s been in the news recently, mostly for their widely disparaged decision to close playgrounds in response to increasing cases. Well. Playgrounds doesn’t exactly cover it. The full list is much more extensive: Under the order, all communal or shared, public or private outdoor recreational amnenity in Ontario will be closed. The list is extensive and includes playgrounds, sports fields and courts, off-leash dog parks, beaches, picnic areas, outdoor community gardens, park shelters and condo parks. The rule was so unpopular even an infectious disease expert criticized it, quite an achievement for a profession that hasn’t met a closure or restriction on public freedom it doesn’t love. Dr. Suman Chakrabarti from Trillum Health Partners said: “Right now unfortunately, apart from vaccination and, you know, some stuff in workplaces, there's not a lot of levers left to pull. And you know what you have to do is not make things worse and by, you know, driving people indoors, which is what these new rules will do, it's actually going to make the problem worse,” Chakrabarti told CP24 on Saturday morning. When a politician has lost even one expert, you know their decision making is off the rails. Wonder if we’ll see a retraction to the hilarious study out of Canada published in October that claimed mask mandates limit spread? Domestic We really have to start with revisiting quotes from two of the most influential people in the country, the President and the head of the CDC. While normally a faceless bureaucrat, the director of the CDC in 2021 has become one of the most powerful positions on earth, with corporations, media outlets and politicians hanging on every word. So it’s that much more upsetting that Dr. Rochelle Walensky appears as unaware of reality as her predecessor. On March 1st, she said this: Over the last week, the daily number of cases and deaths, on average, has risen by about 2% compared to the week prior, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said during a White House press briefing, to about 67,000 cases per day and 2,000 American lives lost to the virus each day. The 7-day average of newly reported deaths has dropped, consistently, almost every day since she made those comments. As of April 26th, according to data from The New York Times, the US was averaging 707 deaths per day, a decline of -65% from the 2,000 Walensky mentioned. A truly remarkable display of ignorance. To be fair, Walensky might have been trying to display solidarity with her boss, who back in January, bizarrely displayed a combined lack of confidence in vaccines and an inability to comprehend the downward trend clearly visible across the US saying that COVID would get worse before it got better. Deaths are down -77% since 1/21. Walensky’s run of success continued in Michigan, where she said that the state should lock down and close businesses in order to control their rapidly increasing outbreak. The full quote expresses her unquestioning certainty that more closures were the only answer: "Really what we need to do in those situations is shut things down," CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said during a Monday briefing. "I think if we tried to vaccinate our way out of what is happening in Michigan, we will be disappointed that it took so long for the vaccine to work — to actually have the impact." Michigan didn’t “shut things down” and cases declined anyway. While infuriating, the consistent conviction with which experts like her deliver information or guidance that’s almost immediately proven wrong is impressive. After Florida, the biggest flashpoint for expert criticism in recent months has been Texas. Remember this? Well, Texas didn't just lift its mask mandate, it removed essentially all restrictions on businesses too. Thankfully the Texas Rangers listened and took the opportunity to have the first full stadium in over a year. Isn’t it beautiful? Not content to let Walensky take all the inaccurate glory, Dr. Anthony Fauci chimed in: Well the data’s in and, I know this will be shocking, but Fauci was wrong. A full stadium of mostly maskless fans didn’t spark a new COVID wave. Cases remained flat. Of course they did. Utah became the latest state to lift a mask mandate on April 10th and saw cases continue to decline, meaning that no experts or media members will acknowledge Utah’s existence going forward. We’ve heard repeatedly that lifting mask mandates would lead to disaster. Yet over the past week, the top seven states in hospitalization rate all had active mask mandates. Lifting mandates was supposed to be “Neanderthal thinking,” yet weeks later, states with mandates are consistently doing worse. Out of nowhere this week, a mass media blitz went out to recommend an end to outdoor mask mandates. After a year of pushing masking at all costs and in all locations, suddenly everything changed overnight: The Atlantic NEJM Journal Watch NBC News ABC 7 The New York Times All these outlets suddenly took it upon themselves to question the necessity of outdoor mask mandates, not to mention those who rushed out to pretend like they’d been saying this whole time that it didn’t make sense: Incredible, isn’t it? After a year of outdoor (and indoor) masking making absolutely no sense whatsoever, all of the sudden, out of nowhere, the expert and media establishment decides now is the time to end outdoor mandates. Should be fun to see how long it is before they pretend they said all along that indoor masks never made sense either.
GWB has been telling everyone on ET that there will not be herd immunity if at all. When you are exposed to someone who is asymptomatic, it is quite possible that you develop anti-bodies that enable you to resist Corona Virus? That actually, locking up people, make them vulnerable because they are not able to develop herd immunity so, can easily catch Corona Virus? Now, I am not a doctor or so called expert but, merely, using my common sense. Take masks for instance. Most offer only a small amount of protection yet, experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci first said masks do nothing for you then, admitted he lied and now everyone should wear a mask. Even now, he has not addressed the kind of mask to wear since, most cloth masks are essentially useless with gaps around the nose? Corona Virus is spread thru airborne transmission. Now, they said to use 2 masks instead of one? What about lockdowns? Lockdowns is a temporary fix. If you have people who are asymptomatic of Corona Virus, once, the lockdown ends, they will be spreading the Corona Virus just the same. So,what did that actually, accomplish? You delayed the spread a bit and nothing more.
Why do I give a shit what Facebook thinks about anything? I don't even have a Facebook account, nor will I ever. Hell, its more likely that something Facebook marks as misleading is bang on the money.
