So? This thread just points out all the stupid fucking ideas your side had during the pandemic. This is one of them. It's no more "science" or less stupid because it happened last year.
So requiring masks at very crowded public pools in NYC (when not swimming) where the majority of the people at the pool were children under 18 --- at a time when no vaccinations were available for children under 18 -- is poor public policy according to you. Whatever. Maybe you need to take a look at all the superspreader outdoor public events including Trump's Rose Garden when masks were not worn.
Yes, it was poor public policy. And what makes it even more asinine was that - people could go in the pool and take their mask off - but hey, when outside in the sun, keep that mask on! Was like masking on the beach. As dumb as can be. That you're so far brainwashed as to think this is normal behavior shows the level at which you've degraded.
And yet wearing masks in crowded outdoor pool areas in situations involving many unvaccinated children was fully supported by public health advisories by the CDC and WHO in mid-2021. Coupled with studies showing that wearing a mask when not in the water in a crowded outdoor pool area would help stop the transmission of Covid. Sad that you don't support what science has proven and policies supported by public health agencies world-wide.
Is this the same CDC that said masks don't work early in the pandemic or a different CDC? Before saying they did and then didn't again? That the CDC that "fully supported" mask usage?
As information about the virus evolved -- the recommendations changed. This is how science works. But you don't seem to understand that. I guess you preferred seeing people rush out to stock up on every single K95 mask available so the staff in hospitals had none early in the pandemic.
Right! It evolved. So for 60 years, the CDC said masks don't work on viruses, and then suddenly they said it did only for COVID. Based on no additional studies, which you call "sCiENcE!" That's the point of this thread, and you keep stepping on rakes each time you post. Of course only later did the CDC come out and say cloth masks didn't work (well over a year and a half later). But somehow, kids wearing spongebob masks at a pool setting - works! tHE sCNiCE!! ™
This is not what WHO stated. This meme is misinformation. Vaccination has been proven to reduce Covid spread, reduce hospitalizations, and reduce deaths in large scale studies.
