Nba Playoff Time

  1. Omigod these Finals are boring! Game 3 was a dullfest if ever there was one. Might as well have been Detroit playing instead of the Cavs...

The game needs to be spiced up. I suggest lowering the rim by a foot, and then have periodic one-on-one's where the players get to call each other out a la The Ultimate Fighter.

David Stern, how you lovin' dem ratings?

  6. The Cavs had a great run and it was a lot of fun for Cleveland since these kind of things don't happen to often. Hopefully this will be the start of good things to come.

Next year's NBA season should be an interesting one. Not sure how much the Cavs can do in free agency since we have some guys with some fat contracts that are not worth the price we paid that's for sure. Talks of the Cavs possibly going after Bibby... we will see.

    -----------------------------------

As for the NFL, as I said in another thread I think the Browns pulled of an incredible draft that should pay dividends over the next few years. Quinn is not the immediate answer, but behind a much better OL, we could be more respectable this year. The sights are pretty low here on what to expect from the Browns this year, so just about anything they do should be decent. Most of what is being said is that the ground work is in place and should pay off over the next 2-4 years.

I'll say this though - Savage (our GM) is very good at evaluating college talent. If he believes in Quinn, then I have to go along with it until he proves otherwise. There's actually a lot of talk about our 3rd pick - Eric Wright - who may start at CB for us right away. Reviews so far is that he is very fast and talented and would have been a top 15 pick easily if not for a character issue. It was a one time incident and Savage is convinced he's past that and trying to prove himself. Again, have to believe that Savage did his homework.

The big question out here right now is what kind of holdout there will be with Quinn. Tom Condon is his agent and we are already expecting a long, drawn out holdout. Condon will argue he was a top 3 pick and the Browns will say, 'yeah, but we kinda got him at #22'. Should be interesting. Looks like Frye or even Anderson (2nd string last year) will start.

One thing of excitement is that our new offensive coordinator is Chudzinski from San Diego. Apparently his system is very complex, but it could be exciting if the Browns can resemble a form of the Chargers offense.

  7. Nice hopeful and positive spin on things for Cleveland sports.

Best of luck to your teams!

I think Brady Quinn will be a bust, but perhaps speed and quick feet won't matter for Quinn.

Dan Fouts and Dan Marino were slow footed...but they both had deadly quick releases.

    Quinn?

Sorry, but I don't see Cleveland getting better if they stand pat. Bibby would be a big help, you guys need a true point guard who can get LeBron the ball on the run. B.J. Armstrong wasn't great, but at least he was a point guard who got the ball to Jordan when he was moving without the ball...

He should in no way be dribbling the ball up the court while his teammates watch...

  8. I think they will definitely grow from this experience. They need another big player though..

  9. They better grow quickly.

Chicago is going to get better, and they are a relatively young team too.

Orlando is a team on the rise.

If Kobe is serious about leaving the Lakers, then Chicago has a good chance at landing him.

A regular Kobe Vs. LeBron showdown would help the flailing Eastern Conference...

  10. Yeah but Kobe wouldn't go to the Bulls. They wil always compare him to MJ or say that he is trying to be MJ. I Don't think Bulls is the right place for him.
