  1. Magic was complaining on TNT about LeBron not taking over the game...

You really want to say Magic is an idiot when it comes to knowing basketball?

LeBron needs to show some spine...

I think he was afraid of Rasheed stuffing the ball down his throat...

    :( :( :(

marshall himself was quoted as saying tha play was NOT designed for him.....you dont design a 3 point shot in that situation you go for the more reliable tie ( 2 point inside shot).. marshall didnt have one 3 point attempt all night..do you think they designed his only 3 pointer coming at such a crucial point of the game when they in fact only needed 2....james shoots chances are he makes it...the foul would have been the icing on the cake...bad decsision on his part...

Let's just say Magic is not enhancing his reputation as an analyst on tnt.
And I never said Magic was an idiot. You guys don't read defenses any better than you read posts.

I guess he passed the ball to him just because he was open and he has always played with that mentality. That is, to give it up to the open guy. I don't really know. But i do agree that the play was designed for James. I just was saying that he had relief valves, which was why Marshall was out there and not crashing the boards for a tip. If there was no chance for a pass to a relief valve, then Marshall would have some splainin to do about what he was doing staying out there when James got into the lane. He should have been crashing.

But the broader point is the whole notion of "don't pass, be the man". I just don't agree with that philosophy in general, and I think the fact that the two teams in the league (spurs and pistons) that best exemplify passing to the open guy are most likely going to be the two teams this year that duke it out for the championship.

Not to say I didn't get a certain amount of satisfaction watching DWade be the man in last year's title run. :D How could I not like you, too, fellow Heat fan.:D

  8. If you were watching the flow of the game, Cleveland had missed the past couple of open shots in the last couple of minutes. You could see the noose tightening around their necks as time was running out, and the experienced team of former champions had the edge.

It was important at that time for LeBron to rise up, to lead his team.

He did not, he passed off to someone who has never made a game winning shot like that in the conference finals.

Teams need a leader that can take over a game.

LeBron had zero foul shots up to that point?

That demonstrates his passivity. No way great players who are capable of going to the hole the way he is, do so for an entire game without being fouled.

LeBron simply is not mature enough yet to be called a superstar.

Who knows if he will ever be tough enough to lead a team to a championship.

Tracy McGrady, great scorer, but has never show the ability to put a team on his back come playoff time.

Like it or not, greatness is measured by championships, and the fact that a great scorer, dominant scorer like Dominique , the human highlight film, never got it done. Neither did the iceman, George Gervin, a great player, fantastic player. Yet he was not a leader that players would follow to an NBA championship.

The jury is out on LeBron, he has been in the league for 4 years, and I don't see much improvement lately. His regular season was below that of last year, he sits and bites his fingernails on the bench...something is missing in this equation.

  10. All potential Cube...

How many championships has Alex Rodriguez won? Barry Bonds?

Until he does it, he doesn't know he can do it at that level, playing against men...not boys. Face it, it is a league of superstars, and most championships have been won with a superstar as the leader.

LeBron is not a superstar in terms of performance.

He absolutely has to improve his ability to knock down free throws if he is going to be the man...

I also think the coach he has is wrong for him. I would like to see him play for a winning coach, championship level coach.

And stop the damn habit of biting your nails on the bench, he looks like a nervous gimp.
