Nazi's, Anti-Semites or not?

  1. Note the subtle difference here:

    certain goverment policies are stupid

all muslims or blacks are stupid

    Why don't you say
    All American policies are stupid
and see if the right wing nuts call you anti-American.

    Fallacy of logic!

  2. Perhaps the concept if too difficult. I will try to make it easier to understand.

A therapist could belive that a parent has too much power over a child's development, but that position is not hostile....it is clinical. The therapist has no emotional involvement, allowing a clinical perspective.

What many fail to understand, that one can form an opinion by observation, without feeling any great emotions about the situation, nor wishing harm to anyone.

I believe in balance of power politically, and when I see there is not a true balance of power, I don't feel or become hostile...I simply question the situation. I think balance of power is important in a society politically, and important for peace with neighbors.

Regarding your analogy, if you said all blacks are stupid, and all Muslims are stupid, that indeed would be a racist statement.

If you said some blacks are stupid, and some Muslims are stupid, it wouldn't not necessarily be racist at all.

It is the all or nothing thinking that is the hallmark of racists, fanatics, and those who become truly hostile when you question their political positions.

You have shown great hostility toward anyone who even questions what Israel is doing.

I see hostility in action from both Israel and Hezzbolah right now, I see no hostility in action by those who like me are questioning what is actually happening, seeking for a peaceful resolution.

Your insistent position that all the Lebanoese people are deserving to die or deserving to be bomed, that the children deserve to die because of their parents actions is pure hostility, and classic all or nothing thinking.

No one can be innocent among those Israel kills, but all Israelis killed are innocent.

    This is fanaticism at work...

  6. Oh please, he said literally that "the jews had too much power" and it's not antisemitic because he also believes that "corporations and lobby groups have too much power".

Based on this logic I could just as easily say that the blacks are criminals or the arabs are stupid because I also believe that government policies are criminal and the mainstream media is stupid.

  7. I find it interesting that you mention this with what seems to be a conviction that you are not guilty of the same thing. That doesn't necessarily mean that what you say is wrong, it just seems interesting coming from you.

For one, we had a discussion about infant mortality rates in this country and you attacked me as a bigot for stating the fact that a large percentage of infant deaths is due to drug use by the mother during pregnancy (along with alcohol abuse and smoking). I gave an observation that was not emotionally motivated yet you very easily slandered me.

As for your ability in holding back your hostility in regards to political balances of power, I think even the people who come to your defense frequently on this site would disagree. You have had your share of tirades in regards to Republicans on this forum.

What occurs to me is that maybe you just can't see it. You may believe that the things you say about Southerners, calling them Rednecks and such is just an observation. Everyone else sees it as a hostile attack.

  8. I hope everyone who reads this understands that it is not a flame, it is an attempt at explanation.

This is Z's stock-in-trade. He simply does not believe that the standards which apply to everyone else also apply to him.

  10. I see once again, as usual, Pabst has no ability to attack the argument....
