So in the original story Ventura claims to have never met this guy in his life, now how would Kyle have known to make up a story about him being at this specific bar where his friend just so happens to be the owner, and Jesse is most likely a regular?

And dont regurgitate this Fox news conspiracy theory non sense Ventura isnt that important, and its not worth anybodies time to go to great lengths just to discredit a lunatic who is more then capable of making himself look like a horses ass.

  2. Here's the problem I have with this story, it happened in 2006. Ventura was 3 years removed from being governor of Minnesota and according to Chris Kyle, that's who he assaulted. Think about it, this guy walked up and assaulted a former governor and this is the first we are hearing about it?

Further, as I understand it the owner of the bar was unaware of any assault involving his close friend, Governor Ventura, so this doesn't pass the smell test.

Do I believe Jesse is the type to elicit an unprovoked assault? Possibly, but I believe this would have been all over the place back in 2006 and I do not recall a single mention. The Seals are a tight community and this would have been one of those quirky news items that got posted and reposted. Think about it, "Former Governor gets punched out in bar for anti Iraq view". Anyone remember seeing that headline?

A quick Google search returns zero articles from 2006 discussing a bar fight with Jesse Ventura so either this didn't happen or there was a massive cover up. Every article I ran across was authored in the last couple of days so I'm leaning towards the latter.

Conspiracy! Conspiracy! Conspiracy! Fox News! Ron Paul! Conspiracy!

Jesus Christ. Enough already. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's the Ron Paul fanatics that really make me dislike Ron Paul and I really like the guy and his ideas. But his followers are lunatics. They see a conspiracy everywhere and I mean everywhere.

Hmmm.... I have been involved in and seen friends get into alot of fights outside of Bars, and I have yet to see a loud mouth wanna be tough guy call the cops, or complain after they deservedly get beat up.

His own ego was what prevented him from telling anyone.

  5. Dude, take a pill. This is the first time I've even posted in this thread so perhaps it's possible some of your agita on this is misdirected?

My point is I cannot find a single article from 2006 that confirms this (can you?) so it's 100% he said she said. Understanding that, I think it strains credulity to believe an assault involving a former governor was kept quiet until this guy (Kyle) decided to sell his book. It was supposed to have taken place in a bar full of people...are you suggesting no one at that bar would have talked about the incident they witnessed? If you are, you've got one heck of a conspiracy theory there.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe the conspiracy is that Jesse paid to keep it out of the papers. How do you think it looks having a former Seal knock you down after you insulted a fellow seal. Did that occur to you? Did it?

  7. So let me see if I understand you, you hate conspiracy theories except when they are conspiracy theories you subscribe to...do I have that right?

To answer your question if it happened the way Kyle says it did it looks bad on both of them. Kyle just confessed to assaulting a former governor, and while the civil statute of limitations may have passed, that's not something I'd be dumb enough to do.

Again, not a single eye witness came forward in all this time so what you seem to be suggesting is not only the governor but anyone who was there also remained silent, for whatever reason. Given the nature of the story and where it occurred, I do not believe it is plausible this would have remained under wraps for the past 5 years.

No, I'm simply asking you to understand that it goes both ways. I'm not saying I believe him or don't believe him. I'm saying knowing what a fucking prick Ventura is and not knowing anything about Kyle, I would be inclined to believe Kyle. Why? Because if the story is false, this highly decorated soldier is going to have a shitstorm come his way so fast and furious it will make Iraq look like Disneyland. There will not be a single man or woman in uniform that will ever stay in the same room as him. And he knows that DAS.

And btw, having family in the military, they protect their own. They don't go around to the media and tell people bad stories about what happens among soldiers. And strangers are not likely to come forward either. I certainly would not do it and I doubt you would rat out a man in uniform to get some stupid gay press.

He said it happened after a service for another soldier, which would mean that it most likely happened at a bar during the day, lots of times if you go to a bar during the day there is no one there, plus it could have happened on the way to the bathroom, or in any number of places where the 2 would not have been seen by anyone else inside the bar.

If i was going to confront someone and punch them out cause they said something i didnt like i know i wouldnt do it right in the middle of the bar, i would wait for my opportunity to confront the person either outside, or in an area of the bar where no one could see me. For anyone who has been in a fight inside or outside of a bar before it really isnt all that difficult to see why there would be no witnesses.

  10. And yet, why would this seal violate that same code by going public with the story?
