I'm new at trading energy futures and wonder how you evaluate whether a natural gas calendar is attractive. I looks like a large spread between October and November. Can anyone point me to a book or a website that has info on this?
Don't have alot of time to post at length now but natty is broken up into 2 seasons. Injection season runs from April 1-October 31, and withdrawal season is Nov 1-Mar 31. Forwards are based on these storage seasons. I will explain in more detail later. October can wind up being a supply glut month if we have no hurricane activity (like last year).
