Nasdaq100 Traders vs. SP/DJ Traders

Discussion in 'Trading' started by local_crusher, May 10, 2005.

  1. As I am currently analyzing Equity markets, some very interesting points regarding this issue caught my attention.

I talk about traders who focus more on the Nasdaq100 (stocks and the index) vs. traders whose major interest is in Spoo500 and Dow Jones stocks + index futures.

What do you think, are there significant, general differences regarding these types of traders (considering only the really skilled and professional ones, who are in the game for long), maybe affecting the underlying markets ?

Does one group appear to be "better" than the other?

I'm convinced they are entirely different market. I have strategies that work for nasdaq100 stocks but not for sp500 ones. The only thing I know of is the dealer vs aution difference. But I don't know how that might cause huge differences in trading system performances.
