Mind boggling. How's that for a black swan?:D Good to know there are rock solid checks and balances in place in the financial casin... er.. markets.

You can sleep soundly knowing your stops are there to protect you.

  2. Yes, ACN went all the way down to 4 cents.

That's not a nasdaq stock though, right? Will those trades still get reversed - I wonder how they will deal with options as well?

For one more stock though, look at TYP (Direxion Daily Technology Bear 3X Shares (TYP)) - it should and did do good on a day like this, but the daily range shows as low as .15.

  3. i have 3 NQ contract at 2:40. Blown away, wiped out. I thought there was a limit down in futures. Any idea how to recover some from this.

  5. Why do there pick 60% arbitrary? why not 50% or 40%?

  7. Stops are not guarantee. Neither is your daily max daily loss limit that you arrange with your futures blocker. In a fast market, it gets blow thru.

How you have keep your account small enough that you can recover.

  9. I am not trying to rub salt in what is a very fresh and undoubtedly painful wound but you MUST learn the rules BEFORE you play any game where there is financial risk. To say "I though there was a limit down in futures" without knowing anything about what your real downside is reflects a very unreasonable approach to markets, business ... life.

You need to spend some month (not minutes ... MONTHS) learning the rules and developing an approach that works. Accept that you are now clueless and that this game requires not only being "clued in" but then being able to use that knowledge in a coherent fashion. Until you get real about markets do not risk even a single penny.
