Nasdaq the last three years

  1. I wonder what the return average for this index has been over the last three years. Week of Aug 18th close 2003 was 1818, so today we are @ 2094. I will call it 15% gain in three years for an average gain of 5% per year, humm that sux.

Minus the big run today, we are looking @ 4.3% per year.

  2. Returns are sometimes big sometimes small and there is nothing I can do about it. What I get is what I get.

Jesse Livermore in Reminiscences Of A Stock Operator describes a period of four years about 1911 to 1914 when prices show little change. Prices sometimes do not change much.

  3. The Dows average yearly return for the past three years is 6%

  4. I totally agree, we are returning the the normal rate of return from the markets 6-9 % then factor in all your maintenance fees, management fees commissions, subtract for dividends, add for tax on dividends and their you have it 7% thats if your lucky and bought at the right time.
