Nasdaq should be open 24/7

  1. Why stop trading at 4pm and then have "AH" and "pre-market" trading?

The Nasdaq should be set up for 24/7 trading, other markets (NYSE, AMEX) as well.

    Why?

  3. That would be amazing.

  4. I agree it should become a 24hr market like forex.

Market is already open too long, should really only be open 3 hours.

  6. How do you figure?

A major reason the 87 crash was so drastic was because the market was closed overnight, and therefore opened extremely lower with no chance to get out. Lower open triggered stops, rippled through to the futures markets, etc

  7. For your health and long life, it should be open from 10am to 3pm.

Well futures are now open all night. If someone needs a liquidity source at 3 a.m. it's there. But no way is someone overseas going to be making a tight market in some POS Naz issue in the middle of the night.

  9. That way I can't sleep at night and things can happen while I'm not monitoring my positions. no thanks

  10. I assume taht everyone that posts to this site is a trader, so it boggles the mind that anyone in their riursght mind would want the market action dilted over another 16 hours. I say let's have 2 sessions: 8:30 ET until noon and then reopen at 2pm et for two more hours
