NASDAQ 100 Index Calculation?

    Does anyone know if the NASDAQ 100 Index Calculation is price weighted or just exactly how this is calculated?(briefly) Price weighted- I would expect ERTS to have a much great influence than, say, ERICY, for instance.

    It's a modified cap.-weighted index. No security can have more than a 24% weighting. For details, you'd have to contact the Naz or the CME

    You can see the weightings at http://www.nasdaq.com.

    Micrsoft is the biggest weighting followed by csco, intc, qcom, amgn and so on.
