Does anyone know how to keep NASD licenses active (7, 55, 63) and prevent expiration, while working at a hedge fund? Thanks
You don't... Use it or lose it. You could try having one of your fund's executing brokers hang it for you
AND beyond 2 years you can apply for 'relicense without examination' with the NASD. Basically, you write a letter to them detailing what you have been doing that is equivalent to working in a licensed capacity (trading for a hedge fund would certainly qualify). They review your request, and let you know after a couple of months. This is not hearsay, I have actually done this for a colleague (although he was only a few months over 2 years)
