i did buy some more for $4.74 (only 100 shares) right before the close. i felt like making a small overnight gamble. we're at $5.02 now.

  4. this was an older guy who's only been here a month or so and still trades small. he had a negative P&L when i walked by his computer, but so i doubt it was more than a couple hundred shares. the market musta caught his other trades short.

  5. MRWSM

    MRWSM

I've been holding ALTI for quite some time, sold 90% of it at just under $3 and kicking myself. LOL The rest I hold is just a forever position that I will ride to 0 if necessary. I thought the $3 area would have stopped it just like it had many times.

    12:56pm 02/10/05
Altair Nanotechnologies up 37.5% after product news (ALTI) By Leslie Wines
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Altair Nanotechnologies (ALTI) Thursday swept 37.5 percent higher to $2.86 after the Reno company said it "achieved a breakthrough in lithium ion battery electrode materials." The company said the discovery will lead to a new generation of rechargeable batteries.

i know it closed at $4.77, up 129% in one day!! man, this stock is acting like it's 1999 all over again. this is "irrational exuberance" redux...

  8. Is anyone planning on shorting this thing? Penson has no shares available.

It seems like a pretty good story though...batteries with three times the life span, recharge in minutes, and same price as current batteries.
