Most of my job is to print out live performance sheet and hand to our clients who spent more time looking at me than the numbers.

  2. I have a moment here while I watch the screens

I think the posts above give the reader an unfortunate picture of what the relationship is between colleagues. I work with a guy who has an excellent background in math (not a PHD but as close to it as you can get). I don't think he will feel slighted if I say that he doesn't have the emotional makeup to be a trader, but he understands math and how the markets work, and I can't say enough about the advantage he has provided traders in this office. Ironically in this morning's market, he wouldn't have been able to pull the trigger and hold through the early probe down to hit the stops....and yet, after our early morning meeting, where he explained what the tendencies would be, I did just that....

I realize that there are many different types of offices and situations but I suggest that this is one way that quantitative "types" add value and work within a commercial setting.

  3. I have a moment here while my white rice finish boiling.

I think it is wonderful that you have made your job to descend from "professional trader" Mount Olympus, and instruct us all (measly "retail traders") about the vagaries of the markets and your infinite wisdom.

How each of us "retail traders" uses your priceless input is, of course, up to each of us, but on behalf of all Elite Traders, I wish to thank you for gracing us with your presence.

Ooops. I've got to go. My rice is just cooked.

I think you may be laboring under a false impression.

Here let me help you with that..

First of all, as to the importance of your comments, I don't see any....you are after all "screwed" aren't you...Your pissy effeminant comments continue to get you what you they have got you throughout your life....haven't they...I go back to my work, and you go back to eating rice....and trying unsuccessfully to get someone to help you....

So you don't continue to waste your time....I will be putting you and your shitty stupid commentary on ignore from this point forward....You (and your rice cooker) have a wonderful life...

  6. Thanks a lot. We'll make sure you get your continuous drip of Thorazine for your psicosis, and a double dose of Glauber salts for your persistent constipation (full of shit).

We'll make sure you get the electroconvulsions treatment daily as well. Dr. Ugo Cerletti will be in charge.

    Arrivederci.

    PS.

Constipation, costiveness, or irregularity is a condition of the digestive system in which a person (or animal) experiences hard feces (faeces) that are difficult to expel. This usually happens because the colon absorbs too much water from the food. If the food moves through the gastro-intestinal tract too slowly, the colon may absorb too much water, resulting in feces that are dry and hard. Defecation may be extremely painful, and in severe cases (fecal impaction) lead to symptoms of bowel obstruction. The term obstipation is used for severe constipation that prevents passage of both stools and gas. Causes of constipation may be dietary, hormonal, anatomical, a side effect of medications (e.g. some opiates), or an illness or disorder. Treatments consist of changes in dietary and exercise habits, the use of laxatives, and other medical interventions depending on the underlying cause.

My boss told me after I joined the shop, we have more clients visit our firm and the fund has increased by 20%. He has since stopped introducing my Ivy league coworkers and their paper models which caused our clients tons of money. People want to see the real performance.

  8. Stick to this forum and follow all of stevesbg posts, whenever he descends from Mount Olympus, and you'll be sure to increase your shop's performance by at least 50%.

Of course 150% of a negative number is a more negative number.

Unlike those pigs, I don't think I make a lot of money. They have no moral, no code, they sell their services to the highest bidder. they are the high end porns on the street.

Or let me put it clear, quants want to extract money from the market which they convince hard working people to invest their life savings. While quants are getting rich, their action causes the public to lose money as fast as possible which will make people less likely to spend. So quants are simply getting money from the public without even providing any services like porn does.

  10. Frontrunning what is already in the order book, by itself, does not offer any advantage, even when it is done at zero speed. You need more than that to make a profit.
