    Hmmm.
Tbh imo, coming out green on a day like today, is the mark of a pro.
Yeah, $800 x 250 trading days is like $200K/year.... I guess that's not a lot for some here... and thats not a shot at you Clubber.... but what I have found, and I have a few years in this game too as a rote amateur, but I have seen a lot... its times like these that wipe people out. So yes, $700-$800 is peanuts for a big player I guess, but I suspect these types make their real money when things have calmed down. That's antithetical af I know. But to generate giant returns right now.... is a f'ing fool's game imo. No one knows what these markets are gonna do right now from hour to hour. To put big money on the line.... is just being a fucking idiot. Its Russian roulette. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. This is coming from someone who thought they had it beat and were wiped out overnight in 2008. Different crisis, same game. That said, buy and hold on certain stocks.... the right stocks, will pay off handsomely.

Slow and steady wins the race. You go Calhooun.

    I completely agree.

The ones who do not scale down in volatile markets like these are the ones who make a giant gain the one day and blow their entire account the next day.

  4. Can you let me know where you put your stop loss for some of your tickers like tvix, sdow, spxs, sqqq, jdst, and soxs? I traded between spxl and spxs all day today. I was up over $120 at point during the day and then made one bad move and gave some back and ended up with $34 for the day.

Thanks for your input on this forum sir, great to see there are still people here who are honest and helpful like yourself.

Ignore the trolls, they have nothing better to do from their moms basement.

3 questions for you if you don't mind:

    1. Can you give an example of what you see as a good price action signal?

    2. Can you give an example of how to use $TRIN in day trading or explain how it could be beneficial for trading stocks and or index futures as a day trader?

    3. You also mention watching time of day, by that do you mean to avoid certain times of the day like for example lunch period or do am i missing your point?

Relax Ken. @Clubber Lang's post was hardly "venomous" and he does bring up some valid points. Volatility aside, by your own admission in your journal you have issues with putting on size in your relation to your capital and experience. I think the treatment you have received on this site has been very fair.

Mr. Calhoun, i like your top 11 trading rules. I don't often scale in, but your top 11 rule list looks solid to me. I always enjoy your post and appreciate your willingness to help others. By looking at your website, it's clear you love what you do. I like it when a person gives them-self to their work, their craft or whatever endeavor they are pursuing. A wise guy once told me to find a job you like so much you can't wait for the sun to rise, so you can do it all over again.

I was green $512 today. I have a $500 goal per day and almost always reach it in 30 minutes or an hour, with my hold times usually under 60 seconds. I always stop when i hit my goal.

Say, I've a lot to learn on intraday, and since you did say ... "feel free to ask questions" ...

Mr. Calhoun, for your style of trading (on intraday trades) regarding the use and observation of moving averages ... commenting about those moving averages ... what statement would you make about them ... Every entry must have an absolute. If this, then that.

Or said another way, which moving averages (if any) must be sloping up (on a 1 minute chart) before you go long?
