How do I backtest this random entry strategy?

It says if I buy at open (as random as it gets) every day and closing the trade according to your formula, I always net positive (average over some reasonable period)?

I never said to use random entries, I was using that extreme example to highlight the importance of exits and tight stops..

And I never said anything about always net positive, what are you smoking?

It means you made about 20 grand before fees. Not bad.

Why get so upset and so defensive? Hard to be a coach if you keep yelling at your students every time they ask you a question.

I was just asking a couple of questions nicely to satisfy my own curiosity, extending your concept of exit and management are more important than entry. I was just framing my question so I can put it to test with your help. If you are correct it should be testable and I am willing to try.

If you are unwilling to answer, just say so, it is OK.

P.S. I backtested quite a few strategies presented by folks here and surprisingly many were very valid.

    I would say yes.

If you are running a trading business, your revenue was $4,577,322.76 and your cost of good sold was $4,456,997.35 leaving you an operating income of $120,325.41. You have a good year and your trading business is thriving.

    Congratulations!

Just out of curiosity I looked at his website and proof of trading. It's likely he is talking about overall $ cost of stocks purchased. So technically it is correct ;)
For 2009 - Stocks proceeds are ~4.9 mil. Profit +16.8k
