Myspace Acquisition Looks Like An Overpriced Mistake For News Corp

  1. myspace would have been a greater success had they solved their technical problems long ago. it's clear it was originally designed without any engineering extensibility in mind and they quickly ran into a brick wall as their user base grew exponentially.

the myriad of technical problems and their inability to easily expand on the features caused them to lose ground to facebook, which was designed after myspace and had more features. the CEO is not going to solve the problem, it's an engineering problem they face not a marketing one.

users are abandoning myspace for facebook because fb is far more feature-rich and usable. myspace is the dirigible in an age of jetliners. no marketing will help an inferior product.
