True. The question is how do you teach someone to make a shift such as this on a practical level...? My wife told me to quit smoking for years. But it was only when I was ready to do so that I made the commitment to quit. Anyway - second day's the charm. I was able to sustain that mindset today. I feel like an important shift is taking place....
BTW - thanks for the link to the video @Gringo - for the last few days I've been muttering "AWESOME!" at random moments - My wife thinks I'm a basket case!
One more update - a lot going on behind the scenes this week. Really feel like I've cemented this new mindset. I've been able to bring my mind back into that neutral observational mode when I have felt it slipping. I took the advice from the video @Gringo pointed me to regarding habits and automaticity. Each time I trade to my plan or ingrain that new habit I positively reinforce it. I'm sure my wife thinks I'm a right nutter muttering 'Awesome!' every now and again, but I'd say its worth it.... I can sense these habits beginning to take root. One area in particular is with scratching trades. I used to 'allow' the danger point stop to get hit every now and again - kind of 'deer in the headlights' stuff. But more and more if I am in a trade and the premise is invalidated - I am able to act without hesitation... The more you do it, the more you start trusting yourself to do so when required, and it becomes self reinforcing.... The good thing about collecting all these stats is I can see the improvement in my MAE figures, so I know it's having an impact.
There may be a revised and updated SLA this weekend, a combination of The Mind Game, Developing a Plan, and the SLA/AMT in one pdf, along with some additions and changes that I hope will make it more useful. (I included the Crib Notes )
The SLAB is done, and available at TL. My eyes have started to bleed from all the proofreading, but as you're one of the few people who might actually read it, I'd appreciate any heads-up regarding typos or errors. Be warned. It's long. 137 pages.
Excellent. I'll have a look now. I used to get that bleeding eye feeling after spec'ing up project documentation. Not nice. Being an Aussie I always found alcohol to help.... As always a big thanks for making such quality resources available.
The attachments have been fixed as best I know how without starting all over again, which I may do on a long, cold, winter evening someday. In the far future. They're posted at both TL and BMT. As I said at BMT, I may not be an expert of Office, but I do remember a bit about backdoors.
